Montco has partnered with West Chester University to facilitate a seamless transfer process for students who have earned or will soon earn an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AASN) degree.
Qualified students will have the opportunity to be guaranteed admission into the Traditional RN-BSN and MSN program pathways at WCU, provided they meet all WCU criteria. There also is an accelerated pathway designed for AASN students at Montco to enroll in the RN-BSN program at WCU while simultaneously completing their AASN.
Traditional RN-BSN Pathway
Montco students with an earned AASN and an active RN license can participate in this pathway at a full time or part time basis.
Requirements
- An earned Associate of Applied Science in Nursing with a cumulative GPA of 2.75, consistent with admission requirements for WCU RN-BSN degree program
- Successful completion of Montco’s MAT131 Intro to Statistics course with a grade of ‘C’ or better.
- Submit an admission application to WCU no later than three months prior to the start
of their intended semester start.
- If submitted after that date, admission into the program will be determined on a basis of space availability.
- Upon starting at WCU, if a student has not yet obtained an active RN License, they
must do so by the beginning of their second semester at WCU to continue enrollment
into the program.
- Students must have an active RN license to graduate from WCU’s BSN degree program.
Concurrent Enrollment RN-BSN Pathway
This accelerated pathway is designed for Montco AASN students to concurrently enroll in the RN-BSN program at WCU while simultaneously completing their AASN at Montco. Students may enroll in part time or full time but are not permitted to take more than 18 combined credits between the two institutions per academic semester.
