Mark your calendars and lace up your sneakers for a high-energy day of fitness and wellness as the Blue Bell Rotary Club, in partnership with Montgomery County Community College (º£½ÇÉçÇø) and Whitpain Township Parks & Recreation, hosts the 5K of the Burbs & Wellness Fest on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Held at º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Health Sciences Center, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, this family-friendly event promises activities for all ages, whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual walker or interested in learning a lot more about wellness to improve your health.

The festivities kick off with the 5K of the Burbs Run at 8:00 a.m. followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers will enjoy a scenic route that winds through º£½ÇÉçÇø’s campus and surrounding area. For the 5K run, prizes will be awarded to the overall winners and top two winners in various categories. Registration is required for both events, with a discount and perks available for those who register by Oct. 26. To register for the run or walk, visit . There is no registration fee for walkers.

The entire community is invited to the free Wellness Fest inside the Health Sciences Center from 9 a.m. to noon. This walk-in event does not require any registration—feel free to stop in at your convenience. With a wide variety of activities and services for all ages, the Wellness Fest is a wonderful way to focus on your health and well-being. Highlights include:

  • Balance screenings
  • Chiropractor
  • Fitness activities for kids (wear sports clothing or uniforms for a special treat)
  • Dental hygiene experts
  • Free COVID-19 and flu vaccines from Skippack Pharmacy (on-site)
  • Free massages
  • Health screenings
  • Public Health resources
  • Red Cross trainer
  • Running clinics
  • Information tables for nutrition advice and much more!

As part of a community effort to support those in need, attendees are encouraged to bring shelf-stable food items for º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Stock-up for Success food pantries.

Proceeds from the event will benefit two significant causes: Whitpain Township’s new nature-based accessible playground and º£½ÇÉçÇø students in need.
